Focus on Healing

Healing Touch Alaska is a private business owned by Mary Szczepanski R.N., M.S.N. Mary has evolved her professional practice using a foundation in nursing and a long term interest in holistic health, high level wellness, meditation, biofeedback, metaphysics, Healing Touch, and studies with several teachers.

She appreciates the way in which the power of self healing is enhanced when individuals incorporate body-mind approaches into their own self care. Supporting clients in learning and using holistic techniques is a special focus of her work, whether in facilitating groups, teaching classes, or providing individual treatments.

Mary also understands that the health of individuals occurs in the context of a healthy environment and mutual tolerance and acceptance. She has been active in promoting human rights and the health of the environment.

Scope of the Practice

Mary's Holistic Nursing practice, established in 1986 in Colorado, includes Healing Touch and teaching continuing education classes for nurses such as Healing Touch (in 8 states), Breaking Free From Co-dependency, Addictions, Living Without Limits, Co-Counseling, Healthy Relationships, and DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).

Mary opened the Healing Touch Alaska office in Juneau in 1993 and offers Reiki and Craniosacral work in addition to Healing Touch. Current and future classes include Healing Touch, Meditation and Imagery for Stress Management and Healing, Holistic Health, Intuition and Healing, Journaling for Healing and Growth, Co-Counseling, Axiatonal energy work, Medical Assistance Program (MAP), and the Microbial Balancing Program (MBP).

In recent years, her work has been influenced by the medical intuitive teacher and healer, Caroline Myss, and the work of Machaelle Small Wright.
